Anyone here with the May 1964 RMC?

I'm looking for Lima road switcher plans, preferably better detailed than the NYC plans on George Elwood's site.

I checked it against the magazine index; that's the Lima centercab.

Most of the pre-1966 RMC drawings are in "Loco 1 - the Diesel" which is a GREAT book of all locomotive drawings that appeared in RMC.

It has the centercab as well as the roadswitcher.

That's correct, Ian. Loco 1 has plans for the "Lima Hamilton Yard Switcher 1949-1951 - 1200 HP" and the "Lima-Hamilton 2500 HP. Transfer Locomotive '50-'51". Plans for both locos are also available in Kalmbach's MRR Cyclopedia Vol. 2 - Diesel Locomotives. A quick perview of the two makes them both out to be the same locos verbatim, with the only differences between the two sets of drawings being the addition of a top-down perspective in the Carsten publication and the Kalmbach book calls the 1200  a "750, 1000 and 1200 HP" loco (I don't know Limas, so that means nothing to me but may mean something to you).

Well, if that 'roadswitcher' is actually the 1200 hp Lima Hamilton Yard Switcher, it is also in "Loco 1 - the Diesel" and that's on the page opposite the transfer cab.

I'm afraid the 1200 hp road switcher's not in either the Kalmbach or Carsten publication, just the 1200 hp switcher. So sorry.

Those are EMD repowered Baldwins, built before Lima even started producing diesels.  Pennsy had the only Lima centercabs.

Not really.  The Atlas VO1000 is a good place to get parts to do the RS, DRS, and AS series of locomotives.  The closest thing to a Lima is an Alco, and that's because one of Lima's chief diesel designers came from Alco.

I meant the plans aren't in either of the books, I don't know about the actual mag article. But it would strike me as funny of Carsten didn't include those plans in their book. Eh, what do I know? Good luck!
