I'm glad to hear that Bob and others are picking up some of the slack in the parts department.  The key to success will be the supply line, though.
Detail parts are one of those things that a lot of guys, or at least this guy, picks up at the LHS.  I believe we like to see what it is we're buying, partly to make sure we're getting the right thing, but also so we can eyeball it to see if there might be any other applications, or any potential challenges in installing them.

Also, If you just need a couple of doo dads, it's hard to justify doubling or tripling the cost of the item to allow for shipping.

Original reply deleted as 3rdrail beat me to it (thanks, 3rdrail! ).

As for future releases, there's a 3rd style hitch kit for 2-28'/1-57' spine cars almost ready to go now and there's the etched grilles for the Atlas MP15DC I mentioned. That's it for now, although I'm certainly willing to entertain any other ideas for future etched projects. ;D

It would be nice to have a MLE web site just to see the products, little tutorial how to build them, and a contact e-mail address.

Etched grills? Wouldn't that be nice, maybe with an etched jig as a bonus.
The biggest problem is to cut the plastic exactly the size of the etched piece. The easiest and safest way is to drill numerous holes and then connect them with an X-acto knife. If there would be a jig that has already the holes, you could tape the jig over the molded on grills. This would keept the holes nicely lined up and not all over the place like mine.

Well, I'm several days and uncounted $ short, but I always buy whatever Atlas offers in their spare parts.

On my present list is their C420 Sinclair and firecracker antennas : $0.50 ea, ungodly markup, but cheap at the price.

I do wish well to everyone trying to make a $ in this 'business'. I tried for five years as a LHS... Don't give up your day job.

I finished the Atlas 50ft Stockcar Detail artwork that will also work with the new 50ft Single Door XM. I have included the Roofwalk with handrails, Stirrups and Cut Levers. Anything else I should add? Looks like $5.95 for the set as-is. I'm going to put these on the sheet containing the artwork for my first rollingstock kit.

Interesting. I notice the picture is marked "Brake Wheel End" yet I don't see anything that makes orientation a difference, what am I missing? Ie, it looks symmetrical around the center to me.

I thought so too until I used a mike and found a .030" difference. I tried two others and found the same offset so I assume that it is in the mold. With adding the walkway supports, it makes a difference where the supports go. If I left the supports off, would not have made a difference which end was which.
