MRC Wireless Recall

MRC Products

Apparently some addresses are not operational on the Wireless MRC Prodigy Adv (2) and associated upgrades.

Here is MRC's posting to inquiries on the MRC users group:

"we have a fix for the wireless addresses, that will let you use all the addresses we have ordered the parts and they will be in stock in approx. 10 business days. after that you can start sending in your handhelds, and your receivers, [for the 0001412 wireles conversion sets], and the base units from the 0001410 wireless dcc systems. both pieces have to be upgraded. this will give you "prodigy wireless/version 2". there will be No Charge for the repairs."

"the engineers tell me there is no way to calculate which address will be affected basically the wireless uses a 3 byte transmission to communicate with the base station the first two bytes are a long address the last byte is a speed or function transmission if the decoder involved has these three bytes in it the wireless can not transmit the decoder data stream"

They have given no indication how long they expect this to take so contact MRC.

Meanwhile, garage doors are going up and down all over the neighborhood...
 ;D

Thought for the day... Never buy Version 1 of ANYTHING.  Ask the man who owned a 1981 Chevy Citation...
