Renumbering FVM boxcars

For Christmas I got 12 of the new FVM SP Double door boxcars to go along with the 8 SSW I got a few months ago  ;D.  Has anyone tried to renumber any FVM cars?  I'm afraid to try removing the numbers with decal/paint remover in the fear of lifting the underlaying paint.

Often I have renumbered cars by patching out the old numbers with a small rectangle of Microscale boxcar red Trimfilm. All Trimfilm is, is decal paper with a solid BC red (or assorted other colors) decal you can cut to fit. Once the Trimfilm dries, you can put your numbers directly on top. Let dry and seal with Dullcote, and you're done.

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

another "save" way is to put MicroSol on the numbers and let it dry, repeat this two, three times and then use a new x-acto #11 blade and scratch them off w/o harm to the color underneath...
