Kato announces more Maxi IVs

Kato annouced a new Maxi IV, Pacer Stacktrain this time and new separate containers, NACS for delivery in April '08.

What happened to no more announcements until they are on the water?

Cool stuff, but did anyone notice if the Pacer containers are going to be correct? It looks - on the drawing on the BLW site that they are exterior post containers - and (correct me if I am wrong), PACER's containers are all corrigated???  I know APL had exterior post containers, just never saw one repainted???

Of course Deluxe has the correct containers.

Yeah, not so cool IMO. If Kato releases their existing 53' Ex-Post container in that all blue Pacer scheme, than thats ALL foobie. I'll pass thanks and keep waiting patiently for the DeLuxe Maxi-IV in the Pacer scheme. An APL ex-post (in the minimal scheme) would have been nice to go with the Pacer cars....

...that's ok, just use the newest Kato SD40-2 BNSF H1 with #6746 to pull this train, it's foobie too !

I can run that 6746, as I bashed a SF SD40-2 in blue and yellow and made it into 6746 with the orange AC unit . I think it looks okay!

Was it here or over on the Atlas forum that someone posted a photo of a rowboat with a container on it? I'll have to look around see if I saved a copy of that thing.

It's a large photo, you need to click to blow up (on XP at least).  Amazing how many things are strapped, tied, chained, etc. to the deck of that ship!

I bet that container was tossed or fell off a ship and those dudes are recovering it. Most likely they will find something like 10,000 cans of insecticide or paint inside a 20 footer though - not plasma panel televisions or Atlas locos!!!

I used to consult to SeaLand and they told me a lot of stories about lost containers - apparently they are a hazard to navigation in some places nowadays too...
