FVM also announced Pullman-Standard 5344 cu. ft. boxcars, and yet another AN. Geez, back when I worked for it and wanted cars bad, couldn't find any. Now that AN no longer has any boxcars and I'm retired, everyboy's coming out with AN cars! Go figure.

This is great news, these are very commonly used in the east...

I think CSX has these too - I was very surprised to see a photo of a CSXT loco recently
with CSXT RD-4's or some similar car coupled on.

I hope FVM also does some plain Boxcar red schemes for the boxcars too, as this has become much more common recently.

OH CRAP!     I just saw a TXUX train this morning on the way to work and thought, "thank goodness nobody has done those cars yet, I'm already broke enough as it is".  Well, at least they aren't the first run so I have a little time.  Man, what a shocker...I had no idea FVM was gonna do something this cool...I mean the wheels are cool enough but....

The good thing is, this is the last coal train car left on my most-wanted list.  Schuuuh-wing.

OMG, Fox Valley's gonna do me in with the PS 5344s. If they decide to do the 5277 I'm a goner. Any PC&F cars and I'm going into major dept. And boy do those hoppers look sweet.... I wish Kleins would get these in so I can see them in person.

I'm really impressed with the quantity of output by Fox Valley. I admit this was unexpected by me and they're making Athearn look like a sleeping giant!

MBK has had the first releases from FVM on their website for some time; unfortunately it looks they they only got one of each road number so they sell out quickly.  Since they aren't getting alot they probably don't have any "up front" in the store, but if you talk to Shane I'm sure he'd bring some up from the back for you to see.

They are showing 4 FMC 5347 SD cars (2 TPW, 2 BH) and 3 FMC 5283 DD Cars (BAR) in stock at the moment.

I'm glad to see the SP passenger stuff - and the Broadway/GG1 of course, but it is puzzling why Kato seems to have cooled its jets on modern diesels.

There are still flavors of the SD70MAC, AC4400, C44-9W, SD70M they could do, and of course the SD70ACE/M-2 and GEVO AC/DC's are out there.

Is the problem the tooling changes to accurately model specific locos??

Even stranger is no NEW paint schemes on some of the models they are making, or appear
to be easily able to make - for example:

    NS and CSX SD40-2's
    FURX SD40's (SD40-2 rebuilds)   <--- wouldn't that be a huge seller?
    CP SD40-2's

Agreed that FVM is making a good impression on me as a manufacturer too.

But so very odd that the "debut release" of the RD-4, C&NW, is TOTALLY a foobie. This is hugely disappointing to me as I've wanted these cars (C&NW) for a long time. Will get them anyway as I think they will look the part in unit train service. I will just have to hide all of my prototype pictures so I can't see how wrong they are...

I don't look at their web site, I go into the shop. If I want to see a web-based image I can go to the manufacturer's site (which is too often just a graphic and  not a photo). It's a weird concept to have a bricks and mortar store with virtual stock. I guess I'll have to ask next time I go in.
