Proof Reading Job Opening at MT

Straight from the MT web site... (Z-scale section)
Quote
This 70 ton PS-2 two-bay covered hopper is painted light gray with lettering in black and white as wells as the black and white circle/cross logo. This hopper was built in November 1957 by American Car & Foundry. It runs on roller bearing trucks. The principle commodities handled by hoppers of this type are cement, sand, potash, as well as a number of caustic materials. For this, the hopper was designed to withstand their effects and keep maintenance at a minimum.

So can someone tell me how long ACF was making PS-2 hoppers for Pullman for?

Obviously accuracy in their marketing copy comes second to accuracy in their models. Oh, wait...

My guess is that it's difficult for someone not familiar with trains to shoehorn prototype information into the specific MT-produced model.

MTL is rapidly becoming a maker of knick-knacks - some of which have wheels and look something like trains.

Well someone who knows what they're doing needs to at least breeze through the fluff. There was one more thing, according to MT, the New Haven had Dash-9s....  ::)

Erie had covered hoppers that were PS-2 knock off's built by Greenville.
Erie had covered hoppers that were built by ACF, but based on a General American design.
Erie had covered hoppers that were ACF clones, but were built at Greenville.
Erie also had covered hoppers that were built at their Dunmore shops from kits.

Looks like they just used the plans, but had someone else build them.

Err, not that I want to defend MT in any way... :P

Well, I understand that there were PS-2 knock offs, just don't call it a PS-2 in your description of the knock off!  ;D ;)

I'm still looking for confirmation that they mis-spelled Auto-Veyor on the ATSF autoracks.  ???

Here's something I didn't know...   :-X

"An EMD GP9 (also known as a "Dash 9" for short) is a 4-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors Electro- Motive Division between January 1954 and August 1963"

I'm eagerly waiting for the 'SODA POPs OF THE WORLD' series of tankers.

Maybe it can be sold to collectors as an MTL error! Might be worth a bundle in a few years!  ;D ;D ;D

I see this type of thing all the time in my line of work. People have lost the ability to write and spell.
