British Ten-Wheeler coming - US potential?

Dapol has announced it is working on an LNER-British Rail Ten Wheeler:



It will have the motor in the tender, driving the locomotive drivers. At 1:148 scale, it will be a mite high wheeled, but might show potential for a North American Ten-Wheel mechanism. Dapol mechanisms are high quality and the locomotive will be a DCC plug-in.

As a Northwestern Pacific guy I am waiting for a long time for a 4-6-0 steamer but I don't think LNER express locomotive with its huge drive wheels would work for my purposes.

well for starters you'd need to adapt the tender drive to a tender that is well, north american.

but yeah, the fodder may be there (better than starting from scratch!)

Why not? It's the same as the Atlas and Athearn Moguls, and the Athearn Consolidation.

Are you thinking of the tender wheels being driven? I was very careful to spell out in my post that it was the locomotive drivers that were driven by the tender motor. You just need to mount the motor in a US tender.
