Julie-Bear, nine, will be joining me.  It'll be good to have another girl she can roll her eyes with!

Any of y'all that showed up plan to report on how the meeting went??  ??? For those of us too far away to attend, like Florida, California, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

I was quite disappointed that Tom didn't bring his girlfriends with him.... ;D

There was a meeting, but I was too busy to pay much attention.  John B, Ed, Tom Mann, Carl (choochin3), Bob Bufkin, Lee (WM3798), Steve (asciibaron), Max Magliaro and myself were all there.  I think there were more, but I quit counting.

Probably the reason there hasnt been more info is a number of them were headed over to Ed's then off to dinner.

What a fun day this was.

It was great to meet you all, who I haven't met, and to see those of you who I've met before.

Oh, and yeah, Bill Lewis (:: cough:: lurker ::cough::) and Max came by to check out the layout, and let me take some pictures of Max's handiwork.

Lets just say I was AMAZED by the quality of his work.

If you're all nice, I'll post some pics.

It was a pretty so-so show, but being able to meet up with some of our a$$hat brethren made it worth the trip.  My only regret is passing up the RS3 that was offered to me for $15.  It was the original mid 80's drive, and for some reason, the thought of digging out the frame for a decoder no longer appeals to me...

Anyway, here's some of us...

Railwire members meet at the October 07 Timonium Train Show. From Right: Brian Carhart (RockGP40, Bob Bufkin, Tom Mann, Ed Kapuscinski, and Yours Truly. That's little Julie Bear peeking around the corner.

I also got to meet Steve (asciibaron), Bob (TrainCat2).  As noted above, it was fun to see John, Max, Tim and the rest.  I missed seeing Jerry Britton, but apparently he's still coaching football.  (I understand that this is a mandatory activity once fishing season is over in Pennsylvania...)

Anyway, came away with a couple neat finds, as well as an armload of work to do for Rock and Bob.  My wife almost had a brain hemorrhage when she saw me come home with 5 locomotives.  I had to explain they're not mine (she still doesn't believe me!)

There's some pretty good vendors there, but I overheard a couple of them bellyaching that they weren't selling much...  Naturally these were the guys who want you to pay list price after you've paid $7 to get in...

BTW, I'm applying ointment to that Chessie stamp on my hand... it still burns a little...

Hope you have a good time again tomorrow... I'll be out on the scaffold scraping paint!

Lee

Logical.

Sorry I bloody couldn't make it. I ended going glamorous things like helping my in-laws paint my daughter's room. And prepping a window for replacement. And shopping for a new freezer. And looking after my son who became sick yesterday morning.

I'll see ya guys at a future meetup.

Cheers,

Mark

Sure regret missing the show. It was on the table... along with twenty other things. Lfe in a condo applies extra layers of responsibilities, and this weekend was dominated by condo s-plus-hit.
