Yard Ladder

Hi Folks

Here are some pics of a project I did has a experiment
it's a one peice yard ladder 4 turnouts in one







Here's a couple of shots of it sitting in place





I have since ripped up all the cork and I'm redoing the area I ran into some problems when i started spiking the rail.

Those turnouts look great.

FWIW, I believe if you were to build the turnouts closer together, you could have larger frog angles but keep the same ladder angle and, of course, track centers..  You do, however, need to extend the curve beyond the frog onto the siding.  But if it works for the prototype, I imagine it will work here as well.

Hi Folks

Lucas   they are #4 turnouts.  I'm using a fast track jig.

I also have a jig to do a #6 doublecross over

Jason   I think that would work the length of excess rail can be adjusted with ease it's just where i happened to cut them


Lee  Sorry no I'm not a Con man it was part of a cheap starter set i got from wife one xmas.
       I'm going steam I've got a spectrum 2-8-0 and a atlas shay so far

Just a little more info I've an 18ft x 10ft room in which is going a double deck layout
Its freelance based around lake superiour ore and logs are the main items of freight
 I'll star a new thread soon with some pics and info
