I got some of these intending to use them on some of my locos and they have me extremely confused...
1. Drill the mounting holes with a #80 drill bit. (Note: We have provided you with a drill jig toward the side of the etching.)
2. Once your holes are drilled, insert the Sunshade so that the half-etched portion is up. (Note: we half-etched the shade so paint will adhere nicely).
3. Once that is in place, mount the track (long, thin piece) directly under the Sunshade and secure in place with glue.
That means the track sits under the sunshade. But in the photo that Ed posted and in ones of Lehigh Valley locos I'm doing, the shade sits in the track (which makes sense).
Does that mean what I really want to do is to:
1) glue the track in place
2) drill holes through the track and shell
3) glue sunshade
BTW, Craig did a good job in listening to modelers. After his first few items, he always puts a drill template in the etchings now. Having that template is handy when trying to make holes for things.
