I took this earlier this month when I was visiting Fonda, New York to photograph the area I am modeling.  What is interesting, is that the two tracks on the right are the old NYC mainline, the Middle track is a passing siding and all the track on the left are abandoned.  That is the old yard that I will be modeling.

Only 1 today since my slides have not been placed into CD's yet.  The place I sent them to had a problem with their equipment and had to send them away.  Anyhow - here's a grain extra headed for Balt, Winter 1970.

A few more from my Queensland sugar cane excursion earlier this month .....

At Redlynch on the outskirts of Cairns, there is an exchange yard where loads are made up to be taken to Mulgrave Mill. 'Gordonvale' on the left is a large Bo-Bo, formerly a Queensland Rail 3'6" DH class shunt loco, rebuilt and regauged to 2' for use on the sugar lines.

Tully Mill has several similar ex QR rebuilds although the rebuilt body style can differ quite markedly between individual locos.

Heading back to Cairns, I stopped briefly at Babinda, just in time to get a shot of two 0-6-0s pushing loaded wagons into the local mill. This was taken at 1/15sec @f4; 1600ASA with a Canon image stabilising lens.

Cheers, Wes

Don't know what kind of car.  Belonged to Paul the gent on the right.  Traded it in for a small 2 seater Brit car which road about 1 inch off the ground and it felt like you were going 90 when you were only going about 20.  That thing scared me to ride in.

Bob, where was that photo shot?

I know this is a weird question, but do you have any photos of it without a train in it?

The good news, Ed, is the track is still there... it looks to be just east of Jack's Mountain.
Bob, your photos make me all soggy with nostalgia...
