I'm going to be out there all weekend with the Conrail Historical Society. Our display will be set up at the top of Horseshoe.

If this doesn't work, just go to Horseshoe Curve and you can find it easily.
Bob

Chris,
I've got 255 miles and 4.5 hours... Of course, I'm making a connecting "flight" to break things up a bit...
C'mon, don't be shy!

Gee, all we need now is Dave Vollmer, his portable layout, and a generator!

Truck is nearly packed... sleeping bags, blankets, bag chairs, food, cameras, fishing rod (we camp by a trout stream trackside!), scanner, and beverages are already being iced.

The pilgrimage to mecca has arrived, gentlemen!  :P

Man am I beat. Got home about an hour ago. Lee Weldon came up to my place Friday night so we could "play" on my layout. Then off to Altoona Saturday morning. Now Lee still has a 3.5 hour drive home from here. Yikes!

We railfanned around the Altoona area, ending at Cassandra on the west slope, where he, I, and our sons (both Andrew's) camped.

We saw 81 train movements over a 24.5 hour period!

Photos later... I'm gonna crash for a while!

I'm beat, too, but I couldn't put off giving you guys a little tickler...

If you were there and we missed you, sorry our paths didn't cross.  If you weren't there, too bad for you.  An awesome time was had by all.

If you were leading us to believe you were going to be there, then chose to wiggle out of it, .... stay tuned.  Film at 11.

I would have been there in a heartbeat if you told me it was all steam there!

My Dad took me to Horseshoe years ago and also to a near by gravity RR with stone ties (I was young so I forget where it was)

Would have been cool to ride a train for once in my life though.
