In 1973 my parents visited Southern Germany and sent me this photo of the Cheimseebahn. Imagine a steam dummy still operating in 1973!

Very few locomotives are ever "stuffed and mounted" and then returned  to service. WM 6 was one. Here she is in the B&O musuem in 1955. She now operates on the Cass.

It's too bad CNJ 592 can't get a reprieve and return to service. She's still at the B&O museum, the last Camelback Atlantic.

Next week, more from the B&O Museum fifty-two years ago.

Hubbard, Ohio. Between Youngstown and the PA state line on the Erie mainline, one of the few short areas of single track. Lived here till 7th grade and rode my bike down to the station many times, then one day it was just gone. My buddy at the time watched them tear it down with a excavator.

Notice the bridge in the background. For some reason the trolley tracks went over the Erie instead of crossing at street level.

My fav in Erie colors  ;D

EL colors. I can barely remember, but I think it was Gray when CR had it.

Those Pan Am cars are, in my opinion, pretty sharp looking.  Too bad the locomotives aren't.  I never did get any pictures of myself hanging off of one before I left the company.  Oh well.

Oooh!  Lenny!  Those little U-Boats!

Those Pan Am cars to me are...I dunno, I just think seeing those there should be some
jumbo jets lettered for CSX or Chessie System or something. I think the kitty would look
good on the nose of a 767.

Oh well, at least I caught my 1st MEC Guilford car last Sunday.

Third try - Steve, your photo does not appear. I notice the URL does not end in a photo suffix like .jpg - no X though, just a permanent "1 item remaining". It also fouls up using a quote to reply...so I got rid of the brackets at the start and end.

Is that the B&O in the background ..

Just came apon this shot and scanned it today.  From mid-70's.  Don't remember taking this and don't remember the location.  Maybe someone out there knows.

George Leilich is rolling in his grave.  That ROW looks atrocious.  My first though was Penn Central...  How the mighty have fallen.

Exactly where is this?
