Steve... that's a good example of why not to paint after getting home from the bar  ;D

Actually it looks like the photo was run through the "rippled glass" filter on Photoshop!

RUNNING VERY WELL

Really...?

The wheels are painted.  Last time I checked, half an inch of paint didn't conduct electricity well.

Oh my....  I thought the comments here were probably a little overstated... but then I clicked the link and looked at the pictures.

Thought I posted a reply earlier this afternoon. Well here goes again. There is more paint on there than on Athearn Mill Gons. The hand Painted CN Modern loco takes me back to the early 1960's  70'S BAB (before air brush) when I used brushes to mostly hand paint everything, also spray cans of Testors and Pactra for a somoother finish. I did use decals and pleanty of masking tape. When I recieved my Aurora Postage Stamp Union Pacific Passenger Set I was disappointed that the F-7 / 9 locomotives were correctly painted, but the passenger cars were silver with a yellow window band. Out came my bottles of testors, I had to mix yellow and orange to match the yellow on the locomotives. I used the smallest (Thinist) HO scale red decal stripes and Champ HO Union Pacific Road Name decals as small as I could find for the letter boards. Then I sent a Blistering letter to Aurora pointing out the correct color scheme for these cars, recived no reply back. I still have the train in its gold cardboard presentation box, the collector value is ruined Waa! However, I collected this train to run so it doesn't matter.A Santa Fe Chromed locomotive is probably what is under all the paint.                                                         Nate Goodman (Nato). I once bought 2 hand painted Atlas Trainmasters for $30 the set. It was painted blue and red and had some stickers on it (stars) to make it a patriotic train set. I believe if you are happy with your talents that is all that counts and you make a fellow modeler happy when your heirs sell it for such a good price.

Well, I simply could not resist. So I sent him this message: You say "RUNNING VERY WELL"--is this true? Have you tested it?

The reply: YES, I TEST IT ON MY TRACK LAYOUT ,AND BE REALLY SURPRISE ,RUNNING SMOOTH, BUT DON'T COMPARE IT TO A KATO ONE, IT'S NOT THE SAME THINGS...KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

I'm speechless.

If that had happened, it would probably look better.

Funny thing is, this guy actually make pretty nice resin castings. I have been trying to get him to introduce those Mack truck kits in N. All he gives us is resin recastings of GHQ trucks.
