Just yesterday evening I caught a  portion of a new edition on the history channel called boneyard. This show was all about how railroad items that reached the end of the line (sort of speak) and is scraped & recycled into new things. It shown things like an engine graveyard of MRL and using a large backhoe with shears cutting up an engine to be recycled. Also shown tracks being dug up and the ties being grounded up to be used as fuel for a electrical generating plant while the rails are sent to a steel mill to be heated and rolled into things like fench post, street sign post & bed springs. In my area it show this program being replayed Sunday evening at 11:00pm. check your area for possible replays. Interesting show and and  new DVD being release later sometime in July.
