A momentus occasion... the dirt golden spike

Well, I wanted to post that I am quite proud of myself.

I just covered up the last square inch of bare styrofoam (ok, it was painted) on the layout with dirt.

Now just leaves, weeds, brush & trees and it's ready to go!

Layout is now
ready to be stripped and go out to the curb on trash day.  Layouts that get 'finished' often suffer this fate...

On a similar note, I'm down to one significant hole in my scenery...


This is the temporary peninsula that keeps the trains running while I renovate elsewhere in the house.  This should provide many hours of operating delight until the "big One" can be finished....
