Here's a last-minute entry.

I also made some more trees, visible here in the background:

Saturday I installed two of what will most probably be a dozen or so Digitrax DS-64 stationary decoders.  I've never used them before so you can imagine my surpise when everything actually worked the first time.

Sunday I got up bright and early and made the trip to the Brunswick show to support my comrad in arms at BANTRAK.  I had quite a bit of run time, hung around to help with the break down, made the trip home and then settled in with my friend Jack Daniels.

Needless to say, it was a very full weekend.

I finished the 2½ foot section of scenery on my layout I’ve been working on for the last 6 weeks or so.  I don’t have any photos though.  Unfortunately my house was struck by lightning last week so the computer is in need of repair.  I wound up using this method for making my trees:

This method takes very little time and looks convincing.  I made the aspen trees from a dried material I found at Hobby Lobby.  I airbrushed the trees light yellow (It’s October on my layout) and hand painted the trunks off white with small spots of dark brown.  They look pretty sharp.

Stay tuned for photos . . .

No model stuff for me over the long weekend, I'm packing it all up for a move at the end of the month.

I did however get out railfanning Sunday and Monday.

This was Monday's quarry:
