There's a photo at Blwnscale.com - and the 8110 has the right ditchlights..

Wonder what they will do next?  Maybe the yellow frame stripe?

P42 Genesis:
Via Rail New Number (July)

I picked up a set of these when they were originally released. I just liked the interesting paint scheme. But now that I have them, what good are they? That is, are there any cars these VIA rail locos can actually pull? I know Con-Cor makes a set of VIA passenger cars, but they're the older deep blue scheme, that would be better pulled by the old Kato VIA E8/9 instead of a P42.

VIA P42's are typically used on the Windsor, ON - Quebec City, PQ corridor. Most of the equipment in that corridor are the LRC coaches, however, some trains are made up of rebuilt stainless steel cars, and some are mixed LRC/Stainless cars. So you can run the P42 with stainless VIA cars. I don't pay much attention to VIA, but the stainless trains seems to be all coach with a baggage car thrown in often.

You'd think the Dash-9's would have many phases, they've built thousands of them over something like 11 or 12 years! I know that there are three basic types on CN:

Type 1: CN four piece windshield "comfort cab" (BC Rail also has 4 of these, and with CN's 23, only 27 units of this type exist)

Type 2: GE North American cab with "teardrop" or five sided two piece windshield

Type 3: Same as Type 2 but they have air conditioners under the cab

I bet Robbman could list more, but these would be the most noticable spotting features trackside. BTW, do these differences even count as phases?

I doubt you'll ever see a CSX -9. They bought (IIRC) a pre-production model that is probably quite different than the production model (most noticable is the trucks... pretty sure they're out of the -8 catalouge). Robbman should be able to provide far more info on this.

I hope not, otherwise I might add to my small modern collection. If I'm lucky it'll have some significant prototypical discrepancy, so I can pass. :P
