What's the "dirty secret" about Atlas' Shay due date?

How many of y'all noticed there was a topic on the Atlas N scale forum asking about the anticipated delivery date of the second run of Shays? There were nine posts, and in one case, Atlas employees answered posts immediately adjacent to this topic but not this one. The "shipping schedule" still shows "April 2007" but no container shipping date. It was originally due in January.

Obviously, no one at Atlas wants to talk about it.

Atlas personnel are under a "gag order" until the PR team has a few weeks to mull it over.

Maybe the boat sank?

Does seem odd.
I believe these were announced Jan 2006, due Jan 2007,
now well into April 2007. and these are not a brand new design/tooling like with the Athearn Challenger. just a 2nd release.
So either some quality issues? or production at China factory X got bumped back? or the boat sank? or?

Big deal. So they're delayed ...

I'm sure this is the first time a N scale release was delayed. Uh Huh.

The "deal" isn't over the delay. I was commenting on the fact that two other topics had replies from Atlas, yet a direct question to it immediately between them was ignored. The Atlas folks read this forum, so this was just a little "needling".  ;)

hehe, yeah they seem selective about what they reply to. I've seen this happen fairly consistently though. (consistently inconsistent?) :P
