50' MILW Ribside

Since this just arrived in the mail, and I'm quite excited by it, I was wondering if anyone has good in service dates for this type of car?

They're good until the mid-70s (some even later), amazingly enough.

I don't know about the 50 footers, but the 40 footers did have ladders shortened and the roofwalks removed.

The Milwaukee cars with full length horizontal ribs were constructed prior to World War II, which for the USA did not begin until December 1941. I'd estimate in the 1938-1941 period. And they lasted until the late 1970's. Running boards were supposed to be entirely removed by 1974, but all weren't.

I swear this was answered before here (perhaps it was the Atlas forum though).

One option, not decal but dry transfer, is CDS, the Canadian company that's no longer making new runs but is still selling off existing stock (sort of like Champ decals). Sold by TMR Distributing. I've ordered from him before, service is reasonable, considering it must be mailed from Canada to the US.
