Looks like the mill sold. The new owner will be taking delivery Tuesday and bringing it home to Jacksonville, Fla.

Which brings up the buy -vs- try argument .. I know people have their reasons for picking up completed models or layouts, but to me, it seems they are missing a lot of fun ..

The buyer seemed like a nice fellow. He showed up right on time and the module was wisked away.  He said is working on  a large power plant too. He should have a cool switching  layout.

Now, what to do with that large freed-up area of the basement?????

I don't know. I suppose if it didn't go as a unit, I could have tried that.

The price was not bad. It would cost a lot more if you hired a custom builder to make something similar.

So whats next Bernie?

We have lots of projects in the pipeline.  We have several new Alkem Kits in the works. Both N and HO.  But they will be coming out slowly, as I have a major unrelated project due in July. Once that is done, we should get some new ASM kits out.

In the meantime, several NVNTRAKers (Matt Schaefer, Brian Brendel, Jeff Peck, John Drye and I)  and a couple of Cinncy N-gineers (Steve Clarson, Rob Gruber and some others I haven't met)  have been building oNeTRAK modules based on the C&O Mountain Subdivision.  Right now we have about 14 modules, with double that number on the horizon.  These are prototype based with common presentation standards and scenic treatment. They look pretty cool.

We just finished displaying the layout at the C&O Modeler's Meet at Hawks Nest, WV. We plan to go back there next year. We also plan to attend the N Scale show at Louisville two summers from now.  At some point we'll put up a web page with more info.

You may have already seen some of them. There were some photos in the 2007 Walthers Catalog of some of the modules. The subdivision was on display at the NMRA Nat Train Show 2006 at Philly.
