I guess the last one out forgot to turn out the lights. Must be some really good bulbs to last 40 years?

I have a book that says that whole station was refurbished and is still used for an area where ferries depart.

This is the CNJ Jersey City terminal, and it's now part of Liberty State Park.  This is where the ferry rides to the Statue of Liberty depart and arrive from the Jersey side of the Hudson.  The Statue of Liberty BTW is actually in New Jersey. I have some more views of this scene. If there's any interest I can post them.

Looks like a couple different art installations I have seen in galleries and museums.

Would you believe, it took me half an hour to find the slides!  Here are some more views of the ex-Jersey Central terminal facility at Jersey City, circa summer 2004.

The train boards appear (in person) to be newly done replicas, but maybe they're original and restored.  The train shed still has all tracks in it, but the terminal itself was abandoned for commuter train purposes some time around 1968.  Freight service continued into Jersey City until Conrail days, when the entire main line between Aldene (Cranford) and Jersey City, all four tracks, were abandoned. Here's a view of a signal bridge in Newark that still stands almost 40 years after abandonment.

I actually planned to model that terminal (when I had the room), here's the trackplan I was working on:

I don't see the bus turntable at the end of one of the platforms. Assume you were planning to include it. You could board a B&O bus across 42nd St. from Grand Central in NY City and it would take you right to your car on "The Royal Blue". There was a turntable at the end of the platform to turn the bus, a White painted in the blue gray, black and gold of the E units. Did that once...

Rich,

I realize space and time are permitting, but I can't wait to see the results of your plans.

That's a special photo, taken on my birthday this year! Could fate be telling me something...
