Just curious--I've seen layouts or modules modeled with snow, in fall with leaves everywhere, but never one of a rainy scene. Has anyone tried that or aware of a "rainy" model railroad?

I'd think key details would be: rolling stock would have glossy horizontal (at least) surfaces, although would still need to be weathered; Scenery would be glossy (or would it? Do wet trees look shiny??) Puddles and pooled water would be visible on pavement and flat roofs. . lighting would be dim--realistic lighting is always one of the hardest things to "pull off" so this may be an advantage. The layout could also have a nice white noise soundtrack or thunderstorms.

There is one in the mini layout scrapbook that is set in the rain at night.

Rand Hood published some excellent ideas for rainy scenery in MR and the articles were reproduced in some of the scenery books. He had formulas for wet materials and different types of applications. He also did a back-lit lightening bolt as I recall.
