I used alcohol to strip 4 Kato F3's. Worked just fine.

I have two Kato F3 sets to be repainted. I'll give the 91% one more try. It may be that different colors act differently. My Chicago NW SD-45 was impossible to strip. My F3's are the Burlington Northern. Maybe 91% iso will work better on deep green.

I use the stuff I get from NAPA stores, it comes in a purple bottle, its sold as a degreasing cleaner. Works best on that very stubborn red Kato paint. Had no luck with Chameleon nor 91% alcohol with the red but the cleaner worked pretty well.

Probably about the same as the BN passenger cars... the white will come off really easily with alcohol.  The green will take longer.  I just started removing the white lettering and stripes, and painting over the green.
