The light is not right at all on these pics but I thought I would share the finished product anyhow.

I will take some better pictures when I am not so rushed. This motel will be going up for sale on eBay Sunday 11/26. I will post the link when this happens

What did you use for the roof?

It's a secret ;D

No really I used Plastruct N scale brick sheet. Almost didn't have to paint it.

Do they still give out matchbooks to make the signs?

And have the Red Roof Police busted down your door yet looking for a trademark license?

The signs were made from some cardstock brochures from the local RRI here in Mentor.
I'm glad I nabbed enough last year as their old style chevron is no more.
No the Accor cops have not smashed down my door yet. I am making a RRI converted into a Motel 6 next and then that is it for the motels.

Are those working LED's I see tucked under the balconies?  If not, that would be a great touch.  You could also install a sound decoder to emulate the grinding of the ice machine, the roar of the air conditioners, and the squeaky mattress in the room upstairs... ;D

Those lights are made from little pearl beads. LEDs would be cool but rather expensive.

My experience for a sound decoder would be the sounds of some dude in the next room
smaking his b!+<# up  followed by the sound of a police nightstick mistakenly rapping on my door.
That's what happened that last time I stayed at the "roof" (in Columbus, Ohio) ::)
