Now what we need is a loco ... :'(

take an Atlas GP38-2 and a Kaslo Shops CN/GO cab, some colors and the decals, send all that stuff to a custompainter (preferably not at the West Coast) and you are ready to go...  ;)

EDIT: wow, a big error from my side, yes, it's a GP40-2 NOT a GP38-2 - sorry for any confusion...   :-\

Maybe if the customer is blind...

Ignoring the blatantly obvious fact that a GP38-2 is NOT a GP40-2 (thus, my Walthers joke)... there are also differences between a GP40-2 and a GP40-2W/LW (symetric equipment boxes, rear mounted handbrake, compressor intake grills, etc) and there's also the GMDD build differences (non-beaded blower duct, stepwells, etc)

GP38-2Ws have all the same differences against thier GP38-2 counterpart, with the added bonus of a 1/2 height blower duct

Yah, sure makes you wish someone would make a shell for the GP40-2(W) and GP40-2L(W) doesn't it. HINT  ;D

I always felt that the Atlas GP40 shell was a better starting point than the GP40-2, since CN's had the chickenwire rad grills. And then there are the stepwells... why doesn't somebody produce those as a detail part. There are alot of those out there that could REALLY use them. Sure would make modeling Canadian units much easier.

Edit: Robbman, no luck yet on the CNR List for a builders plate photo...

I always figured on it being B&M or MEC blue thinking that they wouldn't get a new paint color, just use colors already around so to speak. (Although where they came up with that dark grey that's almost black is beyond me.)

yeah yeah, bla bla bla, go and count rivets...  ;D

(and thank you for correcting my error about the GP38-2 - I don't know what I was thinking, probably nothing...)
