I added some primer to see whats up . As I expected my handrails leave a lot to be desired as well as the rest of everything else I did , but it is what it is , and it looks more like a 44 ton then anything else I own . Next is some more filler here and there , maybe fill the gaps at the coupler , and another reevaluate glance .

So what couplers are everyone using for this project, MT's 2004's, RDA , 904 Z scale ones or accumates ?
Yes I'm now up to wanting to pull cars for a change instead of pushing them. It can push 5 90 ton hoppers along a section of flex track. I guess I should join two together and see how many I can pull?
Has anyone got to the test what she'll do stage yet ?

Here's my version less handrails. The mechanism is stretched and fully operational, weight has been added, couplers are fitted and has been put in revenue work as a test. I still have to put in working directional headlights.
Oops I still have to put the horn on ,truck sideframes (a la Richie) and the step ladders - doh! ;D

I lined up 10 Atlas 90 tonne hoppers and it will pull it with a bit of protest. It pushes it no problems and this is with 2 traction tires fitted.

For what its worth . All of my photos on this thread are now via the new Trainboard Railimages account and I have deleted all my old Railimages photos and had that old account closed down  . On other threads there are red x's , and unless there is a special request for a photo or 2 I will not go through the trouble of reposting those photos . I have been working on this for 4 hours , and its 3AM . Nite E Nite .

Here’s another source for Tungsten Putty if you can’t find it locally.  It’s a Pinewood Derby hobby shop and the product is called “Wutty”. (I suppose the “W” is from the chemical symbol for tungsten.)

They provided extremely fast service.  I ordered it at 2:00 PM on Friday the 19th and it arrived today, the 21st.  It’s a little cheaper at $4.95 for a 1oz. package.  The blob of putty in the photo is 1” wide, weighs exactly 1.0 oz. and is extremely pliable.

It'll be interesting to compare a GE44 tonner with tungsten and one with moldable lead weights and see which one has the better pulling performance.
rtroop how many cars can your critter pull at the moment before it starts slipping (with the tungsten added)?

I'm not ready to add the Tungsten putty yet, but it should be considerably heavier than the Lead putty if both contain the same percentage of metal.    Pure Tungsten weighs 19.25 gram/cubic centimeter while  Pure Lead only weighs 11.34 gram/cubic centimeter. Titanium  is only surpassed in density by Rhenium, Osmium, Iridium, Platinum and Neptunium.

Thanks , It will pull 10 cars , but it likes 8 much better . I would have been happy with 4 .

Use the straight set instead of the bent set Chris . It works a touch better .

Its on my list.  I have the critter and the resin shell.  I just have to get started.  I would like to paint it for the FJ&G since they had one.
