America 250 locomotives in Spencer this weekend

I'm not going, but N&W 1776 is heading down for this. 

I am paying attention though, as ScaleTrains is saying:

"Nearly 150 announcements, all-new HO & N Scale locomotives, an all-new product line - that is exactly what you can expect from ScaleTrains next weekend at the America 250 Locomotive Celebration!"

Well 150 new announcements could be 150 new product #s.. which boils down to 75 new locomotives (sound and no sound) and divide that in half for HO/N.. so roughly 35 new 'items'

So.. I'm going to guess.
The 6 NS units (HO/N - 24)
The 2 CPKC units. (HO/N - 8 )
The 3 BNSF units (HO/N - 12)
The 2 CN units (HO/N - 8 )
The 2 CSX Units. (HO/N - 8 )
UP 4547 (HO - 2)
The Nevada Northern SD9 (HO - 2)
The Reading Northern SD40-2 (HO/N - 4)
The Wheeling SD40-2 (HO/N - 4)
The B&P Dash 9 (HO/N - 4) --- Not sure if they did more Dash 9s.. and they could do the Dash8s as Hypotypical.
The Milwaukee SD40-2 (HO/N - 4)
The NYSW SD45 (HO - 2)
The Class J  (HO - 2)
The 6+ TTX Boxcars?  (HO/N? - 12)

So that is 94... 

They are already showing photos of the Wheeling and Reading SD40-2s on the website.

Should be a cool event, and looking forward to seeing what Scale Trains comes up with.

Yes, but there is no way to misinterpret this: "all-new HO & N Scale locomotives" - to me this means at least one all-new N scale locomotive.

Oh Man I was so close.. (didn't know about the Shortline with the GP30) and I didn't realize CPKC had so many units..

And Train Ornaments was a surprise...

Watching them set up yesterday on virtual railfan was fun. The NC guys have a tiny Plymouth that was shoving the big boys around.

I was there for most of Saturday and had a great time. The heat and humidity did me in, so I didn't stay for the run-by that was scheduled for 4:30.

Since there are lots of photos and videos on the internet, all of which are better than mine, I'm only going to share a couple of my favorites here. The graphics on many of these locomotives are simply spectacular.











In hindsight, I probably should have planned to attend two days instead of just one. Back in 1976, I didn't get to see the American Freedom Train or any Bicentennials in-person, so this was important to me.
