I'm looking at the rebuilt FMC 5327cf boxcars that were heightened by ITEL and became Stone Container boxcars and eventually passed on the MDW and SLR. Here's one in Stone paint.
Most IPD boxcars that had their roofs raised generally didn't have their roofs (rooves?) raised more than 6 inches, so as not to increase the weight of the car too much. But these cars seem, to me, to have been raised higher than 6-inches. I can't find any narrative that clarifies just how much they were raised. Does anyone have any information on them?
