Atlas/BLMA ACF gons - new couplers

I received my new gons today, and notice the couplers before I opened the box.

The box still has the note that the Accumate couplers are made under license from Accurail.

The car has 1015-style couplers.  I don't know if they're genuine MT 1015s, or Chinese 1015-clones, but they look like the genuine article.  Definitely better than the Accumates in my opinion.

Well, sounds like a positive  development. That was a fast adoption process. I never liked Accumates.  And of course, this does not matter for the N-possible crowd. 

If they are made with ex-MTL molds, will they eventually call them "MTL by Atlas" couplers, or not even mention anything about the "new" couplers since they are obviously MTL compatible?

I thought the BLMA cars always had MT couplers or MT clones?

These are the first Atlas/BLMA cars I've bought, so I don't know what Atlas/BLMA was using.  I have some original BLMA gons that do have MT (or clone) couplers.

What caught my attention was that the packaging still had the Accumate licensing disclaimer, even though the cars didn't have Accumates.

Pretty sure that the ex-BLMA rolling stock always came with MTL-clones.

OK, so the cars haven't changed, it's just unneeded wording on the packaging.

Looks like I got (a little) excited over nothing.
