Mixing Badger Modelflex Paints

I have to make some custom colors using Badger Modelflex paints but the critical color I need is Reefer White which seems to be out of stock wherever I have looked. Is it possible to mix in another brand of white paint to the base colors? Generally it would be 10-20% I would have to mix in with the base color.

It seems that not all brands play well with each other sometimes and I'm curious if anyone else has had any luck or warnings about mixing various manufacturers paints.

If Mainline is out of stock, try USA Airbrush- they usually have a good inventory, and have been my go-to for Modelflex for 10 or 15 years.  The caveat being that they sell paint and airbrushes, and no model trains to fill out an order, so if you only need one bottle of paint, the shipping will be more than the cost of the paint.  Also, since it sounds like this color is mission-critical for you, best to check with them on stock before you order.

On the other question.... my best advice is to not mix between brands.  If you have to, try mixing a small amount, to see if it will mix well or react in some undesirable way. 

Has anyone yet come up with a Modelflex mixing chart for all the colors that Modelflex DOESN'T make?  I've played mix and match myself, and some standardized info would be very helpful.

Thank you for the replies. I have sourced the needed paints and am waiting for them now. Hopefully the weather warms enough so they won't freeze in transit!

The MRH website has a guide that may give you a jump start.  It is focused on Vallejo Model Air colors, which perform very well in my experience:

I don't know where the paints are being shipped or where you live, but if it is in the Northeast USA I would not risk shipping any water-based acrylics now. It has been super-cold here for the last couple of weeks. Projects can wait (some of mine are over 30 years old).
