My new run examples of these cars showed up today.

They have dramatically improved wheelsets that are in gauge with proper size flanges and a proper front profile. The trucks are also not binding out of the box, and the factory couplers automatically couple better now too. Honestly, all of the complaints of the first run have been addressed, so someone is paying attention and listening it seems.

They first run was very good, but they're even better now.

Just out of curiosity, how much would it cost for me to buy a real boxcar straight from Greenbrier?

I haven't looked at new railcars in a while but I think a new 50-foot boxcar would between $50-75,000.   Here's an older used 50' car for sale but it's probably near it's end of life (50 years).

Those wheels and truck look good.  Any idea whose supplied/manufactured the wheels?
