Climax standard gauge trucks

Does anyone know of a source for 3D printed (or any other type) of standard gauge Climax trucks?  My searches have all come up empty.  I would like to build the Showcase Nn3 Climax kit, but make it standard gauge.*  Showcase isn't interested in making standard gauge trucks for their Nn3 model, offering to substitute standard gauge Shay trucks instead.  That's not a solution I'm in favor of.  Since their Climax front truck is 3D printed, it most likely won't be a good idea to try and modify it - but if someone, somewhere, has done a 3D standard gauge truck, 'Id like to get one!

That's an interesting idea.  I found a good photo online and except for the journal boxes they are extremely close.  Probably the best solution - thanks!

@BCR 570 did a standard gauge version of a Climax for his recent BC Provincial Museum Train build. He aquired 3D printed trucks.

Perhaps he has some insight?

I have resin sideframes designed to fit the Kato 11-105 trucks (5' 6" wheelbase).   I'm quite sure they would work on the Toma drive unit for N; I've done the Showcase shays in N and Nn3 both.   See https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=59634.0   For the Showcase Shay, I used the Kato DRIVE truck mounted to the front to give me 8x8 pickup, see my construction thread here on the Shay.   You have to file the existing Kato sideframes flat and thin, these are just layover parts.   

Look on Randgust.com for my N Climax A kits, I'm also doing those in Nn3 as well using both Kato and Rokuhan parts, but in both, the sideframes are mine cast in resin.  They are in stock.  Kato 11-105 chassis are inexpensive as well, see Plaza Japan.

Oh, and by the way, if you look at the photos of the Climax shop in Corry right at the end, one of the last ones out the door was stlll a Climax A, they sold those up to the bitter end for export.

It is REALLY worth it to get that front truck 'hot' for the Showcase models, that's why the Kato truck is worth the effort to put sideframes on.  And the last printed N truck I got on the Showcase Shay was not particularly free-rolling, either.  The Nn3 one was.

It is REALLY worth it to get that front truck 'hot' for the Showcase models, that's why the Kato truck is worth the effort to put sideframes on.  And the last printed N truck I got on the Showcase Shay was not particularly free-rolling, either.  The Nn3 one was.

While I am never doing this one as a kit (too many oddball purchased, expensive, and obsolete parts) this is my standard gauge Climax B using Kato trucks, my sideframes.

Now, I've helped another four modelers with building the mechanism to get the working jackshaft, it's on a second worm, front truck drive.  I'll guide you through it with photos if you really want to work that hard.   Kato chassis is the guts.

I will say though that after building two Toma rear truck drives from Showcase, I'm really hooked, it's a good drive, and if you can get that front truck hot, it's an excellent runner.
