Karl I have a chop nose so I'll check it out later this week!
Here's a LokSound Select Direct #73100 in an Atlas GP-9. Pretty easy actually. Just need to mill out a bit of the frame near the back end for the speaker. There isn't much room there so custom build an offset speaker box with styrene and you're good to go. No more sanding away inside the shell to shoehorn in the Select Micro.Another photo
The speaker is 8 x 12mm but I don't remember what brand I used. The enclosure I built is 9 x 16 x 4mm.
Since you were able to get a 9 x 16 enclosure in is there a reason you didn't use a 9 x 16 speaker? I put 9 x 16 speakers & Enclosures in the '95-96' Atlas GP 7/9's and up to now like the larger speakers better but did get some of the 8 x 12's in that were mentioned here recently (haven't tried them yet).If anyone is working on the '95'96's I have print files up for a........ frame holder if you are milling the frame ( HERE ) Sumner
