Picked up my first two Micro-Trains by Atlas cars...

They look........Good...

I got the PRR 40' Box (I presume from the Conrail Family Tree series) and the PLE weathered box..

Normal MTL Trucks/Couplers.. visually at least.. not sure if they use a different plastic.

I can't tell if the trucks are weathered or if they used a rusty plastic color.. (it's darker than the MTL Brown color)... I think they are weathered.. but it's more of a solid color than they used to do.. (maybe because they had the bodies done and waiting for the truck and couplers from the new mfg.

Same Jewel case.. similar label.. same product numbering series... They don't have the car history on the back like they used to..

Good to see product flowing again..

So the ex-MTL crew is still decorating the shells molded overseas somwhere?  Interesting.  Also, does "decoration" mean just the ink-jet decoration MTL had perfected (regular markings/logos and also printed and airbrushed weathering) while the spray painting of the shell is done overseas, or is the entire decoration process of the bare plastic is still done Stateside?

Not that it matters if the quality is good, but I'm just curious.

Well the two cars I purchased are 'grit and grime' weathered.. (probably planned/scheduled previous to the merger).. at a first glance, they look just as good as my pre merger cars.

I assume the decorating process is the same as has been done for years..
