My late Uncle and Aunt were operating partners with Jack Anderson and his wife Carol at the MRSR for many years.
I’ve ridden every inch of that Railroad dozens of times.
It is sad that this has happened and appears to be arson, allegedly.
I can certainly attest to the hopping of Climax #10.
Interestingly, I hadn’t moved to the Pacific NW from Sacramento yet when Railfair ‘81 occurred, celebrating the Grand Opening of the California State Railroad Museum.
Obviously the stars of the show were the SP #4449 and the UP #3985 and #8444.
I had a lot of fun with my friend watching them roll into town.
The Climax #10 was invited down for the 9 day event and operated every day as well.
