Have a Kato El Capitan car that decides to jump the tracks. After putting a gauge on the trucks and making sure the wheel spacing is accurate. I noticed the rear trucks are a little tight to swivel. Part of that issue is I have a Kato lighting kit and the two brass strips added for the light tightens up the truck it is installed on. Anyhow after looking at a few cars I have I noticed a nub for lack of a better term. It looks like something left over from when they mold the plastic truck. If you get one that is larger than most you may have an issue with this interfering with the turning of the truck. I took a razor blade and trimmed the nub off. It seems to be working for now. Hopefully it stays that way. But for anyone experiencing an issue with Kato passenger cars derailing. This is simple enough to remedy and eliminate as a possible cause.
