So what happened to Fast Tracks doing that (cast frogs) and then they just stopped.

For info

I was operating on a layout yesterday that uses some of these. I wish they weren't brass. Its the wrong color and detracts from effect. I wasn't really able to take in the detail because I was distracted by bright gold frogs. I'm sure they look better painted, but the railhead still needs to be bright. Hopefully the blackened ones are better, but I'm not sure how they could be.

The ones I remember were for diamonds. They seem to still be available, but they're not cheap. https://handlaidtrack.com/shop/?v=0b3b97fa6688&wpf_filter_cat_list_1=1469

Maybe the cost is what stopped them from expanding.

They indicate that they are plating the rail head, and that appears to be the case in the photos on the website.

On the layout you were operating, has something worn through the plating like with N Scale Atlas Cd55 cast frogs?   Or the side of the rail is still yellow because it's not painted  yet?
