To get views on Youtube of course.  3D printing is really hot, and a microscopic gadget like that will gather lots of attention. And it is not juts some tiny 3D printer - it is made from exotic woods.   

Joking aside, it is a really, really cool scratch built item. The builder has some really impressive skills!  And it really works!  I'm glad they are showing it to the world. But the videos were way too drawn out - I ended up skipping through more than 50% of it.

Whenever there is a discussion about sub-miniature modeling or art, Willard Wigan comes to mind.  That is really mind blowing stuff (on a different level than this tiny working 3D printer).
