I have a small handful of passenger cars in SPS from Lowell Smith. I have wanted a passenger loco to pull them. I have the Atlas RS-2, I have a photo showing one pulling a small passenger train, but I wanted something more common on the road. So LS is offering 2 passenger locos now. GP9TT and an F3. I really would prefer the geeps since they will run with my other Atlas locos. I run pure DC. You have to put a deposit down and these are made to order with no extras for stock. I decided to go with the Broadway Limited F unit because they have demonstrated a much greater propensity to actually bring N scale to market within a reasonable time of the announced delivery schedule. If I could simply pre-order with no deposit I would have gone with Atlas and expect to see it in 3-5 years. With BL I expect to see it by mid-year next year. Atlas products are great but it is hard to cash up front. The other interesting thing is Atlas lists their GP9s on their production schedule but BL does not list a new run of F units. I wonder what road names they will have in theirs.
