New SP fantasy paint scheme

That is one sexy caboose Carl. What paint and decals did you use?

Thanks for the nice comment. Paints I used:

  Black is Tru-color air brushed
  The silver roof and side frames was a rattle can I had in the garage
  The orange stripes are a vey cheap acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby applied with a toothpick and straight pin
  The two ends are air brushed with Tru-Color SP scarlet red.
  All the undercarriage is cheap black acrylic brushed on
   I forgot to mention that I applied a clear gloss before adding decals, and finally sealed it with  Krylon "FLAT"
     clear. Yes it is a flat finish!


 Decals
   The very small silver stripes, flags, and "Southern Pacific" are from Micro Scale and are quite old.
   I made all the others.

This was meant to be a fun & experimental job. I will never put this much work into an Atlas item again as I don't care for their trucks or couplers.

There was a tunnel motor actually painted in the black widow inspired scheme at the time of the SP SF merger.  It literary lasted a day. SP headquarters was not happy. Attached are photos of the unit by the man who told the story.  I lost most of the information.
