I was surprised that there were similar walkway provisions over the radiator on the USAF MRS1 that I did, as aftermarket / buyer upgrades.

Completed my fantasy heritage Black Widow pain project :

There's at least some mild irony that the paint scheme is a pain( ).

Also assembled one of Dirk Jan Blikkendaal’s ATSF BX-6 boxcar kits that I had stashed away back when they were first released. I made some minor modifications, replacing some of the etched details and adjusting to work with Atlas Andrews trucks from the USRA boxcar, which have centered bolster holes and allows a lower ride height. Still have to secure decals.

Nothing really photogenic, and I just finished it today (took today off work) but I’ve got the whole layout soldered and wired together! It’s only 5 turnouts and like 8’ x 2’ at maybe a foot deep, but still I got it knocked out in one weekend! Now to iron out the kinks before securing the track to the foam

I have had three enjoyable evenings this week undertaking alterations to the layout sections for Chetwynd and Dawson Creek.  The work involves enlarging or drilling new passage holes, and revisions to the wiring for connecting to the new layout sections which are to come.  At present the layout sections are set up on their backs on sawhorses so now is the time do get this work done.

Tim, What is your technique for such neat T joints for the feeders at the bus wire?

My imagination's a little frazzled these days, but I don't see much reason to be on the top of an RS or FA, especially in the rainy Pacific NW.  If there were, you'd think there'd be walkway provisions the length of the hoods.

All sorts of reasons, from capping the stack while in storage to cleaning birds nests out of the horns.

Stay well !

If you have access to the SP group or Train Orders there is a post with photos of a Tunnel Motor in black and scarlet at the time of the SPSF merger.  The paint was on the locomotive for about two days, and ordered removed ASAP from 1 Market St.  The photos weren't the best quality.  You may know this.  Your paint scheme isn't that far from what appeared for a couple of days.
