GM&O Business Car

Looking to research a GM&O concept and am looking for information on the Business or Observation Heavyweights.  Did they ever get painted in the two tone red scheme?  All I've located so far are cars in an Olive color.

Thanks

This would suggest some of the heavy weights did - https://www.flickr.com/photos/alcomike/5792331131 hard to tell if there's an obs in there however.

And indeed some of the coaches appear to have, including motorcar trailers . . . https://hawkinsrails.net/mainlines/gmo/gmo_stock_pass.htm

And this is probably the best bibliography out there . . . http://www.gmohs.org/References.htm

Though I am sure you have exhausted all these options.

Don't know if this will be at all helpful, but here's what I found....

In its post retirement years, business car 5 was in red paint at some point. I don't know if this means it was in the red-maroon scheme at the end of its life and the latter color washed off, or its just that someone in a maintenance yard had some left over red paint. http://rrpicturearchives.net/rspicture.aspx?id=239315

Cars 3040 and 3041 were originally Alton open platform observation cars, but were converted by GM&O to modernized HW parlor cars with enclosed ends.
These 2 cars I am sure wore the red-maroon scheme...

And, worst come to worst, the GM&O scheme that shows up in most photos- Pullman green with gold stripes and lettering, is nice, and no doubt found their way onto the end of some red-maroon trains.
