July/August 2021 N-SCALE MAGAZINE

N-Scale Magazine printed its first issue 32 years ago - July/August 1989. I worked for the previous publisher back then when there wasn't an N scale magazine in the industry, helping design and launch the first issue. I became the proud owner of N-Scale Magazine 15 years ago and happy to say, still going strong. I hope you will join us and share your layouts, new products, tips and tricks and stories. If you are interested in subscribing to N-Scale Magazine, please go to www.nscalemagazine.com
Thank you for your support.

As it happened, I switched to N scale in about June 1990, when my new house had a loft of about 12 x 17 and I happened to notice an unfinished N scale layout of that exact size in the Sunday Classifieds (how old does THAT sound?).  Having an HO shelf layout in my old house garage, I bought it and spent several years fixing it up, and even enlarging it after one move (unfortunately, back to a garage, which worked until one of those DFW summers where constant 100 degree heat buckled up some of the track).

So, I think I bought one of the first few issues, perhaps backdating to the very first one after I discovered it at my LHS.  I recall an article on N Scale of Nevada frames, for one, if that helps date my first copy.

So, we sort of grew up....or is that smaller?....together.  I have enjoyed it ever since 1990.

Thank you for sharing your stories and your kind words. I hope more of you will share how you got started in N scale. We've been doing this a long time and I'm so happy to be a part of it. I've met so many amazing modelers and friends over the years. Hopefully we can all get together again soon at swap meets and conventions this year.

Hi, Pamela. Glad to hear that You and your magazine are doing well. A question for you: I'm thinking of subscribing to your digital version and I'm a Mac-user, so can I view it on my computer?

May I ask why 3 years of print is $103 yet 3 years of digital is $114?  Single years are the same price at $38
