When the CEO (or whatever) of Intermountain was on one of the TrainWolrd Virtual Train shows he did mention the SD45-2 was the first locomotive being produced again.

Good point, but this model is made for and distributed by N Scale Enthusiast, so I guess they get a free pass at Hogtrainz.

This is not a totally new release. I purchased one maybe 10 years ago from the NSC release.
Nice looking model then so it should be no different to this release.

Also IIRC, back in the N Scale Collector days they only sold their special run models themselves. Highly sought after and limited edition collectible models. Not sure when they started distributing their models through BLW (and now Hogtrainz). Maybe it started around the time then changed their name and mission to N Scale Enthusiast.

BLW/Hogtrainz is the only place I have ever seen them for sale outside NSE.. (never knew why... and they don't get everything.. )

I think they get some extras but they go pretty quick. I got one of th NASA SW1500 in the older scheme from BLW

That’s why we’re receiving a locomotive in a Bicentennial scheme in 2021.  IM announced the locomotive back in 1976.
