Railroad Picture Archives Down?

I keep getting an Error 404 on rrpicturearchives.net. Is anybody else able to access it? I really hope we haven't lost such a valuable resource.

It's up, and for the first time ever it is FAST! Either Tim moved it to another server, or after discouraging y'all with it being offline, nobody else is on it at the moment to hammer his bandwidth.

The site is down periodically for me (over the years) - so far, it has always come back up. It has become "Situation Normal ..." for me.

RRPA goes down all the time.

I just assume it's a database thing.

Why don't those sites replace 404 error with a simple web page stating "Down for maintenence/reindexing", etc. ?  That would prevent a lot of heart attacks (in these already-stressful times).

I agree, they go down, usually for short periods, quite often.  I finally decided (no evidence) that their system needs a lot of maintenance, since it seems to be mostly at night that I notice it.

Or that could be because I'm on it mostly at night...
