I was involved with a wind farm built in Central Illinois and the blades came with trucks that supported both ends of the blade. The rear wheels were steerable to get around corners. This area is relatively flat so it is easier to move them around. At one time a loop track was used in Danville, Illinois to unload the blades off rail cars. The building of one of these farms is quite a project. The farm near us has had several blades break and fall to the ground. That makes quite a mess. Last summer many blades and towers came through our town.
Here is a picture of them connecting the blades and hub to the nacelle, quite a delicate project.
