Lemke Liebherr Excavators

Lemke released three versions of the Liebherr Compact excavators earlier this year.  DM Toys has some excellent photos of the two versions that are still available from that source; however, I always find it helpful to see how a new model compares with existing models that I am already familiar with.  With that caveat, here are some comparison photos showing the new excavators with some “known” models.

Lemke LC4251 wheeled excavator, F-Toys PC200 (1:150 scale), Wiking HR18 mini excavator and River Point Station F-350 service truck

Lemke LC4254 crawler excavator, F-Toys PC200 (1:150 scale), Wiking HR18 mini excavator and River Point Station F-350 service truck

The Lemke excavators come with a ditch cleaning bucket rather than the “digging” buckets that are on the TomyTec and Wiking models.  But I am not complaining, because N scale construction equipment is rare!  And, despite the “Compact” in the name, the prototypes are not small excavators.

I found a photo of a prototype 2012 Liebherr A 918 wheeled excavator that appears to be an exact match for the Lemke model.  However, I am still looking for the precise prototype for the crawler excavator.
