Ultimate N Scale autotrailers

From a fellow N-scaler here in The Netherlands who changed from US to German prototype I got 2 Ultimate N scale kits with only sketchy building instructions.....
Can somebody direct me to info on the prototypes or more model info?
I searched the internet but could not find it........

Chuck Short, the man that designed and cast these was a big SP guy and I believe may have worked at Athearn at one time.
Anyway, I think the prototype was common on the SP and the model is close to 1/144.

So that Ultimate-N-Scale kit (unlike the name implies) was not 1:160?  :scared:  I didn't know they did "off scale" kits.
I have few of their truck and bus kits and they didn't seem overly large for American N scale.

I'm not sure it was intentionally done that way but many of the very early resin models like Ultimate N Scale and
Fine N Scale run on the slightly large side.
I've got nearly all of the UNS stuff purchased probably 25-30 years ago, some built but most still in kit form.
It's definitely on the big side, somewhere North of 1/160 for sure.

Bryan, Kentuckian, thanks for the info.
The flickr picture is the from the same designer/builder I assume but a much bigger car ..... also I am looking from the probably original 1950's era paintschemes.
Are there prototype pictures around of the SP versions (cannot find myself on www......).
All help appreciated!!!!
